Both Shela and Lamu are from a bygone era. They are enchanting. Lamu, as Kenya's oldest living town has retained all the charm and character built up over centuries. There are no cars on the Island, except for a Land Rover belonging the District Officer and a tractor!

Enjoy a dhow trip to ancient ruined monuments down mangrove-lined creeks or to Manda Toto island for a day of snorkelling and fishing on the reef, with your catch freshly grilled for you on the beach. Try windsurfing, waterskiing, or deep sea fishing, as most water sports and seasonal diving are available.
